December from the Pastor
Advent has begun and we are hurrying toward Christmas. ‘A few weeks full of preparations. Our church will soon be full of decorations. Each window will have a manger scene.
In the midst of this beautiful time of pine trees and lights and music, there is a soft ongoing refrain. It plays underneath all the busyness of this time. It says, “Prepare him room!”
These weeks of December may leave us feeling drained but only if we lose sight of where these days are really leading us. Allow yourself a few extra minutes each morning. Light a candle and read a little devotional. Prepare a place for Him in your heart.
If this time of year has memories that sadden you or if you just want a quiet time, come to “The Longest Night” service December 19th at 7pm at the Presbyterian Church. Rev. Debbie and I will lead a time of reflection.
Join us for a Candlelight Christmas Eve service here at Immanuel. Check our calendar on this website for the time.
Christ was born to bring us Hope, Peace, Joy and Love.
May this season bring you all of these!
