January, 2020 from the Pastor

Dear friends,

Have you made some resolutions for the New Year? What about last year’s self-promises? We all have good intentions but then we rationalize or make a “good” excuse for our lax behaviors.

Perhaps before we make that list of resolutions, we might take time to pray. Yes, a few minutes in prayer may bring some clarity and reality.

We might resolve to concentrate on just one thing, something very specific or we might turn to scripture to give us a good framework for the whole year.

One that comes to mind is Micah 6:8,” What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?’

And Jesus gave us a parting commandment to consider,” Love one another as I have loved you.”

May the coming year bring you peace of heart and mind and draw you closer to God in every way.

Blessings,

Pastor Heidi
